
Prior to joining DDCE, Georg was Biorefinery Operations Director at Genencor, the industrial biotechnology division of Danisco A/S. Prior to the Biorefinery role, he held a number of positions, including Emerging Markets Operations Director, Plant Manager of the Cedar Rapids, Iowa, manufacturing facility, and Engineering Technology Director. Before joining Genencor in 1990, he worked for Eastman Kodak Bio-Products Division in Rochester, NY.
Georg also is actively involved in the community, serving on several nonprofit boards. He is President of the BIOWA Development Association and is a board member of Priority One (economic development arm of the Cedar Rapids Chamber of Commerce), BioScience Alliance of Iowa, and Tanager Place (a treatment center for abused children).
Georg holds a bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Illinois, and has completed coursework toward a master's degree in Electrical Engineering at the Rochester Institute of Technology. He also obtained Professional Engineering licensing in the State of New York.
